About Our School

Cypress Point University Elementary School (CPUE) is the "Home of the Gators."  The school is located on Mosswood Drive in the Cypress Point Subdivision of Monroe, Louisiana.  We take pride in our tradition of excellence in academic programs, highly qualified teachers, and student achievement.  The school was erected in 1997.  Faculty and staff who had previously worked or attended Sherrouse Elementary (now Alternative School) held the first classes in the new building the fall of 1997.  For several years, Cypress Point was the only year-round school in the district.  To date, the school has had three principals: Patsy McDonald, Elizabeth Ann Cook, and Mary Menyweather-DeWitt (presently).
